Why use a licensed installer?
- It’s the law for paid work in TexasAnyone paid to install heating and air conditioning in Texas needs a license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). Every installer we send is licensed and insured.
- It protects your warrantyMRCOOL’s professional-install systems generally need a licensed installer for full warranty coverage. DIY systems are built for homeowners, but a pro install is still an option.
- It can unlock rebatesMost utility rebate programs pay only when a participating contractor installs the system. See the Texas rebate guide.
- Bigger jobsMulti-zone systems, ducted air handlers, new circuits and long line runs are where a pro earns their keep.
What a typical install includes
Every home is different, so your quote spells out exactly what’s included. A standard single-zone install usually covers:
Mounting
Indoor unit on the wall, outdoor unit on a pad or wall bracket, and the wall penetration sealed.
Lines & drain
Refrigerant lines, communication wire and condensate drain, run and covered neatly.
Start-up
Electrical hookup to an existing circuit, system check, and a walkthrough of the remote and app.
New electrical circuits, long line runs, attic or crawlspace work, and permits are quoted separately when needed.
